Spring Clean-up

Saturday, May 7 was our annual spring clean-up. A big thank-you to everybody who came out to help us keep the Greenway beautiful.

Walk the Bishop Grandin Greenway

Creative Retirement Manitoba program
Thursday, May 26

Hear about the environmental benefits of greenspace in an urban setting as well as looking at the plants and birds that call the greenway home.

International Trails Day

Our annual celebration of International Trails Day will be on Saturday, June 4 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. View the brochure with trail map and list of events HERE

AGM

Our annual general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 9. As always, members of the public are welcome to attend. More details to follow.

Tree Planting

The dates have yet to be determined, but likely sometime in September we will be planting more trees on the greenway. Trees help to enhance the greenspace, and insulate the trail from road noise.

Daffodil Gardens

Sometime in the fall we may be planting a large daffodil garden that should look spectacular come spring time. Check back for more information about how you can help.

2010 Event Round-up

The Bishop Grandin Green hosted a few events in 2010, beginning with the traditional spring clean-up in May. There was great weather, a good turn-out, and about 60 bags of garbage were collected, helping bring the Greenway back into mid-season form.

International Trails Day was June 5th. We celebrated on the Greenway with a number of activities for the public including a PEG City Disc Dogz demonstration, urban polling lessons, workshop crafts for kids and many other things.

In September there was a tree planting, where srubs and fruit trees were planted to provide a scenic break between Bishop Grandin Boulevard and the multi-use trail.
